The Black Widow
This spider is found almost everywhere there is clutter or a place for them to hide. The Black widow is generally shiny black in color with a red or orange hour glass or dot on its underside or abdomen. A bite from the Widow will inflict serious pain and may cause death if not treated right away. The poison will attack the nervous system causing headaches, vomiting and pain in the stomach. If you may have been bitten seek emergency attention as soon as possible.
Brown Recluse
The Brown Recluse is tan or brown in color with an upside down violin shape located just below the front leg attachments. The Recluse is found all over the United States but mostly in the south. The venom from this spider is highly toxic and can cause significant injury and loss of tissue. You should seek out medical care immediately if you believe you have been bitten by the Brown Recluse.
Mouse Spiders
These spiders are usually found under groud usually a couple of feet deep. With that being said the male version of the mouse spider will also come out after rain showers to look for a female to mate with. The Mouse Spider has large fangs and will bite if provoked causing significant pain and injury. Seek medical attention right away if bitten. Generally large in size black with large fangs. E read colored head is also common with the Mouse Spider.
Wolf Spiders
The Wolf Spider is very venomous and a bite from it could cause severe pain. Although the bite is not considered lethal to humans medical attention should be sought right away especially with children and elderly bite victims. Brown and grey in color with a very distinctive union jack symbol on its back. A nocturnal ground dweller the Wolf Spider can be found around the outsides of homes and in the garden areas.
Trap Door Spiders
The Trap Door spider is a non aggressive and timid spider with large fangs that will hurt if it does bite you. Brown or dark brown and covered with fine hair over its body. A ground dweller that prefers dry and exposed locations
Orb Weaving Spiders
These spiders are non aggressive and rarely bite. A scarey looking spider that is brown to light brown (sometimes other colors) with hair and a purple colored abdomen. Found in gardens, between buildings and shrubs spinning a large circular web to snare other insects for food.
Funnel Spiders
The Funnel spider is generally brown or grey with light and dark stripes near the head region. Reffered to as grass spiders because they tend to build webs in tall and overgrow grassy areas. Not usually found indoors this spider lives in the Pacific Northwest. A bite from this spider is non lethal and is no cause for alarm. Not to be confused with the deadly funnel web spider found in Australia.

I just read that the average person eats 55 spiders in their lifetime through processed food and such. Yuck!!!!
The brown recluse isn't really that poisonous. You can be bitten by one and live for several weeks. You'd really have to ignore the giant area of flesh rotting off your body for a while to actually die from that spider, lol.

You are correct that they will not neccesarily kill you but the bite is very damaging. My leg is proof of that. I happen to be lucky and bitten by both a recluse and a black widow in my lifetime.
